Comments about Midwest Midwest Day Tripper Soft Dog Crate:

I've used this very successfully as a recovery cage for a cat after surgery. The 3rd size up from the smallest worked well (25" longer dimension) - small enough to be cozy for the cat, big enough for her to stretch out and stand up and walk around/shift position. The soft sides meant that she wouldn't hurt herself in the floppy phase. I easily adjusted towels over the mesh windows to limit light as needed. I could lift the cage up on a table for the initial recovery phase (recovery from anesthetic, floppy phase) and then put the cage down on the floor with flap open for the later (post-floppy) phase, setting a litter box right in front of it. In the later phase, I could also easily zip up the flap with the cat inside to lift up to the table again if I needed to medicate or examine the cat. I put several layers of disposable bath towels in the cage, which worked fine for various discharges right after surgery. It doesn't take up much space between uses since it's foldable.

Comments about Midwest Midwest Day Tripper Soft Dog Crate:

I have a 12 lb. cockapoo and he loves this crate. It's very spacious. We use it indoors and when we ride in the car. It collapses flat for easy storage in a closet or trunk of your car. And it has a handle for easy carrying. The only downside is I wish it had zippers on both ends so that I could open it from either side. Other than that, it's great!

Comments about Midwest Midwest Day Tripper Soft Dog Crate:

I use the soft crate for travel, for containment when I'm out of the house. My dogs use it for their privacy, naps, respite, to watch the rest of the family while lying down. I keep them under the dining room table, so they are in the great room with the rest of us. For protection? Depends on the definition--a large dog could easily break in to one if it wanted to attack, but I never leave them out unattended. My medium size dog broke out after her stable mate died, and she developed separation anxiety--she scratched the zipper open and broke it. But under normal circumstances, inside the house or vehicles, both humans and dogs feel protected.

Service & Delivery comments:

Yes it was very prompt, arrived in perfect condition, and since I ordered the wrong size, service was very helpful in the last return.

Comments about Midwest Midwest Day Tripper Soft Dog Crate:

My large cats absolutely love their carriers and like them out all the time to use as "forts". One gets inside to nap with only one end open on the porch and not be dive-bombed by birds, while the other likes to lie on top of his because it is cool and ventilated in our 110 degree weather then snuggle in it in the winter. the young one hides all his mice in it. My cats have a one hour ride each way for vet or boarding so these carriers where they can stretch out are perfect. Hint: fold one of the soft crate pads they sell at the grocery and pet stores and put a towel on top to make a super soft padded floor! My vet and many others have asked where i got the carrier.
Did I mention they fold flat for storage?
