Comments about Midwest Dog Vehicle Barriers:
My complaint isn't limited to this exact brand - it appears that pretty much every dog barrier out there has this same problem. They don't actually attach to your car. I bought the Dog Vehicle Barrier by MidWest, and have had a real difficult keeping it securely in place. Rather than connecting to any part of the car, it merely uses what's called a "pressure mount" - it just kinda pushes against the floor and ceiling of the car. Every time you drive over a bump, it works itself loose, until it eventually dislodges, and falls down on your dogs while you're driving. I solved that problem by tying it to the headrests of the 2nd row seats. But that was only after the barrier came dislodged once again while I was on the freeway, in what could've been a very dangerous situation. Now it doesn't fall, but it rattles constantly, so I have to uninstall and reinstall it whenever I take the dogs anywhere.
Unfortunately, I've been looking for a dog barrier for my car (Ford Flex) that doesn't use one of these rinky-dink pressure mounts, and haven't been able to find one yet.
Comments about Midwest Dog Vehicle Barriers:
We purchased the Dog Vehicle Barrier to contain our 2 large Maincoon Cats in the rear of a Toyota Highlander while we moved from Idaho to Maine. The Barrier was strong and sturdy even though the cats tried to climb it. The only small modification I needed to make was along the bottom so they couldn't squeeze under it. I did that with a heavy piece of cardboard. It all worked out well.

An effective barrier to keep dogs off the driver's lap, off the gear-shift, and out of trouble.
Costs less than 1/3 that of the car manufacturer's model.
